Q&A: did any of you ever have the corticosteriod injection in the eye for diabetic retinopathy?
Question by naturalized: did any of you ever have the corticosteriod injection in the eye for diabetic retinopathy?
dear all, my mother has diabetes for 15 years now. recently we got to know about her diabetes retinopathy and its fast deteriorating. the doctors have offered laser treatment and the corticosteroid injection. as much as i have read online it seems that the corticosteroid treatment hardly has any information or studies done. i was wondering :
if any of you have undergone the steroid treatment,
how long ago did u have it,
how frequently did u have to repeat it,
and did u develop any cataract and/or glaucoma cos of it?
any of you had the laser treatment done, then please tell me about your experience from that. how r u doing now? what r the side effects or long term effects? if someone gets worse since the laser treatment what options r there then? the more details you have the better for me. please please let me know as much as you can. we r so worried for her. we need to come to a solution ASAP. thank you all for your answers and time.
god bless you all with good health.

I had the laser treatments many years ago and have had no problems since. I havent heard of the treatment of which you speak. Email if you have any questions. Good luck to your Mom..I know how scary this is for all of you.
