I Have Glaucoma…my Vision Sucks…should I Get Laser Eye Surgery?
I have glaucoma, my eyesight is getting pretty bad by the day. I’m just wondering if laser eye surgery is possible so I can restore my eyes to 20/20 vision.
Hypothetically if I get the laser eye surgery and ended up with 20/20 vision again, will my glaucoma “kick in” and gradually mess up my vision again? Ugh..that means another laser eye surgery!
You need to seek professional advise before thinking about laser surgery. Having any eye disorder like glaucoma can often be a contraindication for laser eye surgery.
It all depends on the type of glaucoma you have, whether there is any corneal damage, and the type of treatment you have recieved so far.
If you have had any laser surgery for the glaucoma, then you may not be suitable for laser eye surgery
So I had vitrectomy surgery a while back and while my surgeon was in there replacing the vitreous fluid she also removed some scar tissue and did a bit more laser. At my last checkup she said I was on my way back to a 20/20 eye with my glasses/contacts. My point is that laser has really helped me.
Glaucoma is treated with medication and/or surgery. If left untreated it will cause blindness. If the laser surgery is what you have to do to preserve your eyesight then you should do it. It beats going blind.
surgery, it a easy one day process. or u could relieve that pressure on your eyes by smoking some marijuana, i know it unorthodox but its been proven to work.
Id say the surgery would be well worth it.
no, it should be gone once the surgery is done, you’ll feel much better
